The Institute of Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) opened the Huairou Park in Beijing at 10 am on Oct 30, marking major progress in building a comprehensive national science center in the area. On the same day, "one device and two platforms" began trial operation and took the lead in entering the state of scientific research.Huairou Park of Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences covers an area of 230 mu, with a building area of 118,000 square meters. It is located in the core area of Huairou Science City in Beijing. In order to implement the spirit of the Circular of the State Council on Printing and Isending the General Plan of Beijing on Strengthening the Construction of National Science and Technology Innovation Center (No. 52 [2016] of the State Council), Beijing Municipality and the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly built Huairou Science City. In May 2017, relying on the Institute of Physics, the construction of a material genome research platform and a clean energy materials research and development and comprehensive testing platform was started. In September of the same year, the construction of the National Key Science and Technology Infrastructure Comprehensive Extreme Conditions Laboratory, with the Institute of Physics as the legal entity, started in the core area of Huairou Science City (i.e., "one device and two platforms").The construction of "One Installation and Two Platforms" was first started in 2017, and the civil engineering was first completed and accepted in July this year. The opening ceremony of the park will be a milestone in the construction of Huairou Science City, marking that "One Installation and Two Platforms" first started to enter the state of scientific research.By the Chinese Academy of Sciences institute of rectangular loyal, "a two device platform" as the National Development and Reform Commission and Beijing around major technology infrastructure cluster layout, the first start of the construction of the national great science equipment and cutting-edge research platform, bearing the Beijing huairou comprehensive national center for science in the material to realize leaping development scientific research important mission.Among them, the clean energy materials testing, diagnosis and research and development platform has laid out the research directions of secondary batteries, cold and heat storage conversion, solar cells, solid-state lighting, advanced equipment, etc., focusing on the national application and national security in the advanced field of technology research oriented to practical application. At present, the platform has undertaken A series of national and local major science and technology projects, such as the National Key Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the A-class Pilot Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the National Natural Science Foundation of China Innovative Group Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China Key Program, and the Beijing Municipal Commission of Science and Technology for the third consecutive period of support projects. In addition, cooperation agreements have been signed with a series of influential enterprises such as Ningde Times New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Weilan New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., to build a joint laboratory and jointly tackle important technical problems in the field of energy storage. The comprehensive operation of the platform will provide important support for realizing the long-term goal of "Electric China".
